Netherlands is as" rich "as Florida "
That the U.S. government are well known. In 2009, gross domestic product (the total monetary value of all produced in one country goods and services, also known as GDP) more than 14.3 trillion worth. One quarter of world gross product.
So if the United States are worth so much, then you can assume that the different states also have a high domestic product? Yes, you.
The Economist figured out how high the GDP of the various states and that compared with other countries in the world. The result? Some states are just as "rich" (if you can determine on the basis of GDP) as complete nations elsewhere.
So you see the infographic that the Dutch gross domestic product as high as that of Florida in the south-eastern United States. Pakistan is as 'rich' as Oregon, South Dakota had compared with other states to spend a lot less but still as much as Sri Lanka. And the GDP of the state of California is almost as high as that of Italy.
The Economist also counted how the population of the various states it. Netherlands with 16.5 million inhabitants, is not on the map. In the densely populated Hong Kong as many people as live in Washington. Across Azerbaijan is as busy as in New Jersey.
